Nexties Illustrations
Nexties is a course and career discovery platform run by Liven Labs. The brief was to make career exploration feel less intimidating and more fun. In 2025 I made the whole illustration system from the client’s references: the props and icons for the landing page, and the animations and stickers for its conference stand. Everything is modelled in Blender, so nothing ever had to be redrawn.

Objects
Everyday props people recognise at once.
The system works in two layers. The first is a lifestyle set: props that feel grounded and familiar, everyday things users relate to straight away.
On the landing page they frame the three steps of the app (capture, remix and shortlist) in headline moments, feature panels and sticker-like visuals.
Props and icons together: a fortune cookie beside a star-eyed face, a bubble tea beside a heart.

Icons
Louder, for the feelings.
The second layer is louder: stylised, emoji-like elements that bring the emotion. Faces, hands, trophies, flames and a lot of sparkles.
They use the same purple, green, yellow and pink as the props, so both layers can share a frame.

04 The last four, a size up.
Animations
Modelled once, posed again.
Because everything is modelled in 3D, the system stays flexible. Once the base props existed, new angles, poses, colours and layouts came without redrawing anything.
So the animations reuse the same props, turning, falling and orbiting a laptop. I made them for the Nexties stand.

Stickers

The props and icons also became stickers, for Nexties' stand at ANZSSA 2025, the Australian & New Zealand Student Services Association conference. Nexties was there to show how it helps higher-education providers connect with better-fit students.
