LEGAL & PRIVACY
01 Site owner
This site is mine. As Spanish Law 34/2002 (LSSI-CE, art. 10) asks, here is who I am and how to reach me:
- Owner
- Pablo Marín González
- NIF
- 53775256Z
- Address
- Calle Padilla 5, 33205 Gijón, Asturias, Spain
- Website
- https://pablomarin.es
02 Privacy
This covers what you send me through the contact form, by email or on WhatsApp. The person responsible for that data (the controller, under the GDPR) is me, Pablo Marín González, with the details above.
I use your name, email and message to reply to you and to talk about the project or role you wrote about. Nothing else: no newsletters, no profiling, no automated decisions.
If you write to me on WhatsApp (on the Spanish site, the round button and the footer link to it), I receive your phone number and your messages, and I use them only to reply, as with an email. WhatsApp, run by Meta, carries the chat under its own terms and privacy policy, as the service you chose to write from; it doesn’t work on my behalf.
The legal basis is taking the steps you ask for before a possible contract (GDPR art. 6.1.b) and my legitimate interest in answering a message you sent me (art. 6.1.f).
All three fields are required because without them I can’t answer you.
03 Who else handles your data
A few services handle data on my behalf, only so this works:
- Netlify, Inc.
- hosts the site, keeps server logs (which include IP addresses) and receives the form, which it checks for spam with Akismet.
- Zoho Mail (Zoho Corporation)
- stores the messages we exchange.
- Cal.com
- handles the booking, only if you book a call through the "BOOK 20 MINUTES" link.
I don’t pass your data to anyone else unless the law requires it.
Netlify and Cal.com are based in the United States. Those transfers rely on the European Commission’s adequacy decision for the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, with standard contractual clauses as a fallback. Zoho keeps my mailbox in its US data centre, under the standard contractual clauses in its data processing agreement.
04 How long I keep it
For as long as our conversation lasts, then up to one more year, and then I delete it. The same goes for a WhatsApp chat. If we end up working together, I keep what the law requires for contracts and invoices, for as long as it requires.
05 Your rights
You can ask me to access, correct or erase your data, to object to or restrict how I use it, or to hand it over to you in a portable format (GDPR arts. 15–22). Write to hello [at] pablomarin [dot] es.
If you think I’ve handled your data badly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) at www.aepd.es.
06 Cookies and storage
This site runs no analytics, embeds nothing from third parties and sets one cookie, only when you switch language or go to the home page from another page. It keeps a few small things in your browser, only so it works the way you’d expect:
| Key | Stored in | What for |
|---|---|---|
pm-theme | localStorage | your dark or light preference, saved only once you switch it. Until then the site follows your system’s setting. |
pm-loader | localStorage and sessionStorage | the date you last saw the intro animation in full, so for 7 days you can skip it, and, for the open tab, that you’re already on the site, so moving around doesn’t replay it. |
pm-scroll | sessionStorage | where you left the page, so a reload doesn’t replay the intro over it. |
pm-at | sessionStorage | the path of the last page you opened in the tab, so CLOSE on a project takes you back to the home page you came from. |
nf_lang | cookie | the language you browse the site in (es or en), so the home page opens in it rather than in your browser’s. Saved only when you use the language link or go to the English home page from an English page; it lasts a year. |
What is in sessionStorage is gone when you close the tab; the pm-loader date is only used for 7 days and is replaced the next time you see the intro in full. Only nf_lang leaves your browser, to this site’s own host (Netlify), which reads it to open the home page in your language. None of this identifies you. Being technical and preference storage, it needs no consent (LSSI-CE art. 22.2).
