Sapira

Sapira builds bespoke AI systems for European enterprises: it turns the operational knowledge trapped in people’s heads into working infrastructure. The film had to make the weight of that felt, even without the narration. DuoDuo Studio led the art direction, with the concept, the palette and the storyboard. I took it into production and built the hero film in Blender, on Geometry Nodes.

The scenes

Abstract scenes that flow into each other.

The film follows the narrator through Sapira's mission statement, each scene flowing into the next. The goal was to make invisible systems feel tangible.

Glass cubes with red cores, rows of panes, a node network, a document tower, spheres rising from the ground, a city of glass, and a crane that turns into the wordmark.

01  Nine of the scenes, in film order.

Behind the scenes

Primitive geometry, moved by Geometry Nodes.

Everything is simple primitive geometry, to hold the minimalist look. The motion runs on Geometry Nodes, so many scenes animate procedurally instead of by hand. Particles flow between two cubes like data moving through a system, and a city of glass panes assembles itself pane by pane.

Working procedurally made each revision quick.

03  No default cubes were harmed in the making of this project.
